The Dandenong Ranges’ own Half Cut Hicks have poured everything into this record, crafting a raw, raucous, and unapologetically original sound that’s been brewing for years.

Now, after stepping away from the stage to lock down every last note, they’re back—and they’re bringing the noise. With a high-octane mix of banjo, mandolin, trombone, ukulele, guitar, Sidchrome, tenor, bass, and drums, the Hicks serve up a genre-defying concoction that has been labelled everything from Rum Barrel Blues to Trash Grass & Hillbilly Punk. Armed with a 3-string cigar box guitar, trusty 6-string, and shed-built foot drums, Jungle Jim Smith is a one-man-blues-band with a rock’n’roll heart. Delivered with a raw croon, he blends dirty blues and swamp boogie that pumps with rockabilly grit, forging a full-band sound uniquely his own. Chugging out tunes from an impressive arsenal of originals, his infectious hooks and riffage finesse beckon to the dancefloor, making fast fans and friends of music lovers all over the country.
