3MDR seeks a Youth Content Coordinator to develop closer ties to the community it serves.
It is important that all 3MDR staff and volunteers foster, wherever possible, closer relationships within the community. Your role is to be a contact point and to visit community members, groups, organisations and events to engage with people under the age of 18, talk to them about the radio station and inspire them to listen, submit information, use the website, come in as a guest, become a presenter and get involved.
Hours are flexible and you are expected to organize your time and prioritize your workload in conversation with the 3MDR Station Manager. You will work with the board, station manager and sound technician on daily and weekly tasks as well as developing long-term projects and objectives.
Seeking applicants 30 years or younger.
Location: Work can be completed outside of the studio. Some hours will be completed at the 3MDR Studios - 400A Belgrave-Gembrook Rd, Emerald Victoria. Some hours will be spent visiting local schools.
Reports to: Station Manager (meeting weekly), 3MDR board ( written report monthly )
Responsible for: Under 18’s presenters
Wages: Broadcasting Award Grade 10 - $19.34 per hour. 18 hours per week. One year contract.
Essential Skills:
- Audio recording & editing skills
- Radio Presentation
- Knowledge and experience of social media
Desirable skills:
- Current Driver’s License
- Current Working With Children Check
- Experience working/mentoring/making media with people under 18.
- Previous involvement in the community broadcasting sector
