We wish you all a very safe and happy Festive Season as we head into the summer holidays.
3MDR is super excited about the year ahead. 3MDR will be moving in January to Forest Park Homestead in Upwey South to make way for the demolition of the Emerald Hall early in the new year and construction of the new Hills Hub which is due for completion in 2019. For more information on the Hills Hub project you can check out Cardinia Council's Major Projects website page HERE
Forest Park Homestead will allow for an expansion of 3MDR's operations with 2 on air studios, live performance space, reception area, multipurpose room to accommodate educational programs and meetings, production room, office, kitchen (with hot running water!), toilets and storage.
Having been cramped in 58 square meters of "temporary" accommodation for the last 16 years, 3MDR's volunteers and staff are very excited about the relocation to the homestead.
We hope there will be minimal interruption to the broadcast service as we undertake the massive task of relocating the operations. There may be some "off air" time as we sort out the transmission link in coming weeks but we will do our best to keep any outages to a minimum.
Programming on 3MDR may be slightly different to that advertised on the program guide as a few of our volunteer presenters will be taking a well earned break over the Christmas and New Year period. We may have some guest spots with local students who did work experience throughout the year popping in from time to time....or Larry Lyrebird will hold the fort with some great Australian music.
If you're heading away on holidays, stay safe on the roads and remember to keep an eye on cfa.vic.gov.au and emergency.vic.gov.au to keep informed of conditions as we enter the fire danger period.
Thanks again for your support throughout 2017 and we look forward to your company in the new year.
