Community Radio is again under threat from Federal Government funding cuts...

Keep the Community in your Radio Petition

The Federal Budget contains cuts of $1.4 million p.a., funding that currently keeps community radio stations broadcasting on digital in 5 capital cities. Community radio’s standing alongside public and commercial broadcasters is at risk.
The good news is that community radio has great community support and during this election campaign we’ll be speaking up loud and clear and calling for both the Coalition and Labor to restore the funding if they win government.
Sign the petition below and we’ll make sure that both Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten get your message.

CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION!!

Feel free to use this message when you sign the petition:
Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten, as a supporter of community radio I’m asking you to reinstate funding to keep community radio on digital if you win government.
Community radio serves so many Australians; from radio for the vision impaired to programming in the different languages spoken across our country, to Indigenous broadcasters, faith based stations, regional stations and youth stations.
Please don’t leave community radio behind.

After 15 years behind the microphone The Maestro has called it a day and retired from The Friday Breakfast Lounge.

Peter Haddow aka The Maestro has been a regular feature on breakfast radio as a volunteer presenter on the self proclaimed highest rating program broadcast on a Friday morning on community radio 3MDR 97.1fm.

You can catch The Maestro's last show via the FBL show page http://www.3mdr.com/programs.html?friday-breakfast-lounge

The Maestro's contribution to 3MDR has been amazing with a swag of great interviews conducted over the years, along with outside broadcasts, book and music reviews and so much more.

We'd like to thank Peter for his years of volunteering at community radio 3MDR and wish him well for his future adventures.

Another Transmission Shutdown - Wednesday 11th May from 7am to 7pm

5/5/2016

Yet another transmission shut down has been requested by a telecommunications company at 3MDR's shared transmitter site.

Unfortunately 3MDR will be off the air again on Wednesday 11th May from 7am to 7pm.

3MDR will not be available on 97.1fm but you can still catch your favourite shows via the live stream at 3mdr.com

Larry Lyrebird may be your entertainment provider throughout the day as some of our volunteer presenters may take the day off from presenting their shows.

3MDR has also been requested to reserve Thursday 12th May as a "back up" day for the telco to finish the works.  Hopefully the Thursday won't be required and we're back on the 97.1fm frequency.

We're hoping this is the last of the telco works as these interruptions are becoming quite a nuisance.

3MDR would like to apologise to the listeners, subscribers and sponsors for these ongoing interruptions.....alas it is out of our hands as 3MDR's transmitter site is shared by several telco companies....
