Would you like to be more informed about the health and wellbeing needs of our local community? Would you like to share your ideas and join others in the community to do more? Council is holding its first Community Summit in October, bringing together like-minded people and volunteer groups to collectively address the health and social needs of our community.

If you are already part of a community or volunteer organisation, interested in volunteer opportunities or want to learn more about local initiatives, you are invited to join the discussion about the health and social challenges facing our community.

During the three-hour event, you will have the opportunity to:
  • discuss the biggest health and social challenges facing our local community
  • learn about local initiatives that address these health and social challenges
  • share your ideas with others and work together to plan new initiatives that improve health and social outcomes
  • Identify how you could support local community and volunteer groups

There will also be information about applying for Council’s Community Wellbeing Grants to support ideas that aim to improve health and social outcomes in the community.

Participants can choose to attend one of two sessions. The first will be on Saturday, 28 October from 1pm–4pm and the second on Monday 30 October 9.30am–12.30pm, at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, 40 Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham. Refreshments will be provided.

The team at 3MDR would like to thank all of the members and subscribers that have supported the station over the last 12 months.  Community radio 3MDR can not stay on the air without your support......Thank You Thank You Thank You!

Yes folks, it's that time of year again where the 3MDR Radiothon Train gets rolling down the tracks for another 2 week subscriber drive, departing on Monday 16th October and arriving at the Big Gig @ Sooki Lounge on Sunday 29th October.

If you signed up in October 2016 it's time to renew your subscriptions and memberships to help keep your favourite community radio station on the air for another 12 months.

3MDR has a busy 12 months ahead with an impending move due to our current premises being demolished in early 2018.  3MDR has been working on securing new studio space and is preparing for a costly relocation which will enable 3MDR to expand its operations and provide even more opportunities for members of our communities.

The Radiothon train will be loaded with some fabulous cargo for you to win! Check out our Radiothon 2017 page to see the details of all the prizes and links to our generous prize donors.

Please join us on the Radiothon Train and call the studio on 5968 2727 during your favourite show, call the office staff & volunteers on 5968 2728 or simply hop online at 3mdr.com to subscribe.

Your subscription and membership $$$ go a long way in helping 3MDR cover all the costs associated with operating a radio station......rent, licence fees, utility expenses, staffing costs, equipment upgrades and many more, all of which add up to approximately $130,000 per year.

In addition to all of the fabulous programs broadcast on 3MDR by volunteers each week, your community radio station provides many opportunities for members of our communities to gain experience in community media behind the scenes.  3MDR provides work experience opportunities for local students, tours for the Girl Guides and Scout groups, opportunities for people with diffabilities, VCAL placements, free promotion of community events, interview opportunities, support for local musicians with airplay and live performances in the studio and so much more.

To finish off the 2017 Radiothon in grand style, we will be arriving at Sooki Lounge in Belgrave on Sunday 29th October for a special day of live music from 1pm.  With 17 performers, DJ's, Hip Hop Vibes and more you don't want to miss this fundraising event.  We hope to see you there.  Click on the image below to book your tickets today!
