Merry Christmas and mince pies!
Season's greetings from Mountain District Radio

We've had a such an exciting year here at 3MDR. This is a big THANK YOU for all your support. You helped make this happen....

7450 hours of live and local radio produced from our homely little studio in Emerald. Our aim is to provide an independent community voice for the Mountain District area, achieved with interactive local news, culture, entertainment and emergency alerts.

3MDR is proud to announce that the Mountain Of Sound project has just been awarded the Community Broadcasting Association Australia's "Contribution To Australian Music" Award 2013. The project is a real show piece of the talent we have in 3MDR's licence area and has now been recognised by the sector's highest association. It's the people behind the mics, the performers, the members, subscribers, volunteers, sponsors and the listeners coming together to make it all happen at a tiny studio in Emerald, the home of music, community and 3MDR 97.1fm. We look forward to continuing this fantastic project into the future and you can help us by purchasing a copy today and playing it loud and proud. It makes a really good Christmas present too! Get a copy online here

Macclesfield Primary School took an official time slot too on Tuesday afternoons 3pm to 3.30. Seven work experience students joined the team for one week each learning on-air presentation skills and behind the scenes production.
