3MDR Programming Update February 2022

1/28/2022

Comments

Picture
We're nearly back to all systems go for our 2022 on air programs, give or take the odd period of iso, and there have been a couple of changes to the grid.

Jo from Heart Hour is moving up North, so her regular program has been retired... However, she has promised a special or two once she's settled in, so keep an ear out for those.

RockBottomRadio has seen the return of Marko... And he and Luke have moved to 10pm Thursday nights, with a longer two hour show.  So, be sure to stay tuned after Do Your Thing with Daniel for aural delights from all over the musical spectrum, with a focus on local emerging musicians.

SideTracks has expanded to two hours, following RockBottomRadio moving timeslots, and John can't wait to expand his weekly offering!! He's got some great ideas for new content... You'll need to tune in from 3pm on a Wednesday arvo, so you don't miss a thing!

We're hoping to have our new training modules set up towards the middle of the year, so we'll look forward to announcing some new shows and presenters then.

If you have any feedback about 3MDR's programming, please don't hesitate to email our Programming Committee via programming@3mdr.com

Awaken your artistry with Bronwyn Ward and Kerri Hollingsworth as they ‘Weave Through the Trail’ - a creative event facilitated by the artists, held in Mt Evelyn along the rail trail.

Inspired by the June 2021 storms, activities to nurture and reflect on your experience will be enjoyed in a slow and peaceful manner throughout the weekend. Come along and discover nature weaves, form your own latch hook leaf, try your hand at rope making with foraged materials, or unwind in the stillness with some reflective writing.

These collaborative artworks will provide the starting point for an exhibition at Burrinja Cultural Centre in August, again reflecting on the impact of the storm.

When: February 19th & 20th between 10am and 3pm
Where: Outside Station House, Mt Evelyn (alongside the rail trail)
No bookings required

Proudly sponsored by Yarra Ranges Council.

Emerald / Monbulk Wildlife Shelter is our final Community Group to be awarded a FREE month of On Air Announcements, as part of a COVID-19 Recovery Project funded by Yarra Ranges Council.

"Emerald / Monbulk Wildlife Shelter has been caring for orphaned and injured wildlife for over 30 years.
Carol and her team of volunteers care for between 40 and 60 animals on any given day!
There are always a number of baby animals that require around the clock care with Carol feeding them through the night.

If you'd like to donate to support Carol's rehabilitation work at the shelter or just learn how to check a pouch and what to do if you find injured wildlife in the hills, check out Emerald / Monbulk Wildlife Shelter on Instagram or Facebook... Or better yet, donate to the Shelter's Go Fund Me."

The 3MDR Listening Survey

11/22/2021

Comments

Picture
The 3MDR Committee of Management, in conjunction with our fantastic staff members Phil and Ren, have recently started planning for 3MDR's future, through a strategic planning process that happens every 3 or 4 years.  Central to this process is gathering and considering the views of our members, volunteers, sponsors, subscribers, as well as listeners and community members in our licence area.

With a highly successful Radiothon completed, and a bit of a breather, it's time to launch the  >> 3MDR Listening Survey <<.   We invite you, your family and friends, to share your listening preferences and why you love community radio, regardless of whether or not you are a regular 3MDR listener.  We are seeking the views of anyone living in our licence area, which stretches from Mt Evelyn in the north, to Pakenham in the south, and from Yellingbo in the east, to Boronia in the west.

If you do have a connection to 3MDR, we'd love to hear your views about our programming, volunteer support, the benefits of membership, and the value of sponsorship, and more.

It will take just 10 minutes of your time.  Your time is invaluable to us.

And please forward this message through your networks, colleagues and family members.

There is 3MDR prize pack for one lucky survey respondent.

Thank-you!

The 3MDR Committee of Management
