The team at Safe in Belgrave is made up of a diverse mix of dedicated, passionate and proud Hills residents. They come from all walks of life, differing backgrounds and various age groups and belief systems.
They have banded together in support, and to celebrate, the unique Hills culture that provides a safe space for all individuals to be individuals. They believe they are extremely lucky to live in an accepting, inclusive, warm, welcoming and progressive community that celebrates diversity in all forms.
Belgrave is unique. It is a place where individuals are free and safe to truly be themselves, and where diversity is freely, and unquestionably, accepted and celebrated. This freedom and safety is something community residents have grown accustomed to, and something that sets their community apart. This is something for all community members to be proud of. They are qualities that this group would like to see shared beyond Belgrave’s boundaries, so that it is not only Belgrave and other Hills towns that provide a safe space for all, but a quality that is shared and fostered in a growing number of towns across the state and the nation.
"In the year 2016, we'd like to see conscious steps being taken to make Australia a safe country for all."
Safe in Belgrave - An Actions Supporting Safe Schools, Safe Towns, Safe Communities.
Saturday the 19th of March, 12pm – 2pm, Belgrave Town Centre
(venue yet to be confirmed)
We live in a safe and accepting community. Hills residents are renowned for their unique, artistic, progressive, inclusive, warm and welcoming natures. This is something that we are proud of. Our community is not one that tolerates hate, bullying, judgement, homophobia or transphobia.
Safe in Belgrave intends to stage a celebration of the ever-present equality, acceptance and inclusiveness that comes with living in the Hills, and a positive and clear action of support for such an important initiative as the Safe Schools program.
