Thursday 28th January 2016 from 9pm - Midnight.
The Almost Blues Show is coming up to its 700th Thursday night Show
after first airing on Friday afternoons.
Michael first started on 3MDR as a guest presenter with Greg Webb, on Saturday nights back in the Belgrave studio days.
Due to work commitments, which involved regular trips to USA and Europe, Michael was unable to commit to a regular show back then. But the upside of the traveling was that it gave him many opportunities to meet many of his blues heroes as well as some of the new up and coming artists.
Michael has been fortunate to have been able to present a lot of new albums and new artists for the first time in Australia on The Almost Blues Show.
And now some of those up and coming artists from back then, such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, are the mainstream blues greats of today. Michael still catches up with these for interviews today, which are a regular part of The Almost Blues Show.
And next week also brings up Michael’s 350th different version of the classic Hey Joe, so there are two things to celebrate next week.
Hopefully you’re able to tune in and join Michael, and all of 3MDR, in celebrating this milestone show.
