ON AIR is 3MDR’s 40th Birthday Podcast Series, an EPIC oral history project celebrating the history of Mountain District Radio.

ON AIR celebrates the 40th anniversary of 3MDR 97.1fm. Established in response to need following the Ash Wednesday bushfires, 3MDR has been a stalwart of the community for the past four decades, supporting local businesses, creatives and musicians along the way.

Over 24 episodes we will hear from current and former 3MDR members, staff, volunteers, members of the community, musicians, and more! Plus archival recordings and live music going all the way back to the 80s.

The interviews in this podcast were conducted by Nat Grant, Phil Ruck, Graeme Beal, John Weeks, and Dale Blair, with editing by Will Arrowsmith, James Reid, John Weeks, Cosmo Abrosia, Teagan Hocking, Cameron Stephen, and Nat Grant.
