2026 Programming Update
Written by Celeste Willoughby on February 13, 2026
Hello 3MDR Community!
Happy New Year and welcome back for 2026, the International Year of the Volunteer!
We had a massive year in 2025 celebrating our 40th anniversary, and we are so proud of our volunteers for their amazing contributions and top notch programs!
We have a number of changes to the Program Grid to keep you up to date with:
We are pleased to welcome Kaye and Sonya for their new show ‘The Hills Are Alive’ which has gone to air in January, taking on the slot on Mondays 12pm-1pm. Hear all about what is happening in the local community with this ‘what’s on’ guide for arts, events and leisure.
- Judy-Ann’s show ‘Judy-Ann & Co’ will continue serving up current affairs and interviews from a new timeslot on Mondays from 9am-11am starting at the beginning of February.
- Tanya’s movie soundtrack show ‘The Reel Thing’ has moved to Friday 10am-11am where you can continue to enjoy the soundtracks of cinematic masterpieces new and old.
- Our newest addition to the grid will go live at the beginning of February: YourDNA will be on air Wednesdays 2pm-3pm, with artists from YourDNA Creative Arts celebrating the unique voices, perspectives, and talents of disabled artists, makers, and storytellers.
- ‘The Feast’ will continue to go to air with Maggie and Celeste, while they farewell Ben and Xani from their hosting rotation. If you know any music lovers looking to join the show to present on the 1st and 2nd Tuesday of the month from 3pm-5pm, please encourage them to get in touch!
- ‘Little Wing’ will have its last broadcast (for now) on February 4th. A big thank you to Bealy for his considerable contribution to the 3MDR airwaves for over 20 years! We will miss the unique blend of music, environmentalism, and bird brained tidbits that made ‘Little Wing’ so good! But we know you will be back at some point, and:
- ‘Dan from Audio Blast’ will be moving to keep Bealy’s timeslot warm from February 11th, airing on Wednesdays from 5pm-7pm, continuing the diverse sonic mayhem Dan’s show is known for, just on a new day.
- We also have Rarry doubling up on the grid, adding a second show to the program in addition to ‘Thinking Up’ on Tuesdays – now she will also be presenting a fortnightly Hindi program on Sundays, 6pm-7pm starting in March.
We are looking forward to seeing what the new year ahead holds for us all!
