Programming Update

Happy New Year! We hope you are all well and rested heading into 2024.

We are excited to share some updates to the 3MDR grid:

Bealy is back! Little Wing – 5pm Weds

Graham ‘Bealy’ Beal has been involved with 3MDR for over 20 years and we’re thrilled to have him back in the presenting chair this year sharing a wide variety of music from Contemporary to Jazz & Blues.

For over 50 years Bealy has been a keen Environmentalist, Birdwatcher and Ornithologist who enjoys many genres of music.

Each week will include an interview with musicians or a representative from a group or an individual with an environmental background.

You can tune into Little Wing 5pm Wednesdays on 97.1fm, on 3mdr.com and on the Community Radio Plus App.

Cliffs Edge – 7pm starting Saturday 13th January

Join new 3MDR presenter Dale for Cliffs Edge, 6pm Saturdays starting this week! Featuring electronic beats, tweaks & squeaks, Downtempo, Techno, Breaks, and Deep house.

Amped Up! 6pm starting Saturday 20th January

We welcome another new presenter, Jo!

Kickstart your Saturday night with Amped Up!, where we’ll bring you the best of indie, alternative, punk and rock music. Tune in and immerse yourself in a world of raw energy, powerful lyrics and infectious melodies. Plus, with the latest news and insider information on the hottest gigs and upcoming events, you’ll never miss an opportunity to catch your favourite artists live.  6-7pm Saturday nights on 97.1FM – get Amped Up!

We have some more new trainee broadcasters hitting the airwaves too, more on that soon…

Hextie will be retiring the 80/20 rule this year. Stay tuned for more info on a special final broadcast.
