Some Local State Election News

Written by on October 28, 2022

If you were at our Garden get Together last Sunday, you may have heard us announce that Labor Candidate for Monbulk Daniela De Martino had been to visit with some pretty amazing news for 3MDR…

Well, we have more great news for our community!!

Daniela has been out visiting a couple of other fantastic community organisations in our local area and spreading the love…

Foothills Community Care:

For 20 years, Foothills Community Care has made a difference to the lives of locals, providing a place where people can connect and engage as they address issues such as family violence, homelessness, poverty, mental health and social isolation.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will ensure Foothills Community Care can keep running their beloved meal services for locals across the Monbulk electorate, including the Dandenong Ranges and Knox.  If re-elected they’ll invest $50,000 in this not-for-profit grassroots organisation, supporting them to provide a safe and inclusive space, along with home-cooked meals, for all those in need.

The Philanthropic Collective:

The Philanthropic Collective is made up of a team of volunteers that focuses on community goodwill and caregiving.  Since their Free Food Program was launched in 2016, the Philanthropic Collective has fed more than 2,000 families in need.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will ensure the Philanthropic Collective can keep giving a helping hand to those in need across the Monbulk electorate.  They’ll support the Philanthropic Collective with a $60,000 grant for the not-for-profit charity organisation – helping them to provide care boxes to all those in need.

3MDR:

For 37 years, 3MDR has brought local news, music and radio programs to the homes of community members across the Dandenong Ranges.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will ensure that the 3MDR radio station continues to provide the programming locals know and love.  They’ll invest $50,000 to support this great local radio station.  That’ll mean more locals will be better supported by the dedicated and hardworking volunteers and staff helping to deliver community radio programs for the Dandenong Ranges.  We’ll make sure they are well equipped to help local families and members of the community get the information they need, when they need.
